Bertec Forceplates

Bertec force plates are designed for gait, balance, and performance analyses. Our patented strain gauge technology, innovative transducer designs, and quality manufacturing help you capture the highly accurate data needed for your research.

Each force plate consists of precision-engineered, strain gage load  transducers that precisely measure six components: three orthogonal  forces and the moments about each axis. Each plate contains a built-in,  16-bit digital gain amplifier and signal conditioning unit, which make the  use of calibration matrices obsolete. You then have the choice of three  external amplifiers: digital, analog, or digital and analog in one. This  system allows the use of long output cables (up to 100m) without any  signal degradation. The digital output can be directly plugged into your  PC’s USB port. Simple installation and a minimum amount of setup time  result from this plug and play technology. For the analog output, you have  the choice of either six individual BNC type outputs or seven individual bare  wire outputs (custom output cables available per request). Digital acquire software is offered to enable quick data collection.

Instrumented Treadmills

The Bertec Fully Instrumented Treadmill allows researchers to reduce gait laboratory space requirements and remove the limitations inherent in a traditional gait walkway. The unique design results in superior dynamic characteristics and a high natural frequency making it the best research-grade fully instrumented treadmill available on the market.

Works with all major motion capture systems. The treadmill’s user-friendly controls allow for testing numerous conditions with variable incline, speed, and acceleration options. Additionally, for deep custom integrations, our developer SDK is available for custom belt control and data access. 

Industry-leading accuracy

Bertec treadmills offer high precision data at precision-controlled speeds and accelerations. The system’s high natural frequency, low vibration drive system, and Bertec’s custom electronics enable independent and highly accurate 6-component load measurements from each belt.  

Unique design

Meticulously designed, the Bertec Fully Instrumented Treadmill is a split belt system with each side controlled independently (or synced) in both forward and reverse directions. With optional instrumented handrails and incline systems, you can expand your studies to collect more scenarios including upper and lower body forces in uphill or downhill setups. 

IMMERSIVE LABS

 Bertec Immersive Labs is an integrated research system for biomechanical analysis. It combines a split belt force instrumented treadmill, 3D motion capture system, and virtual reality dome. The system allows the researcher full control of the lab environment. You can customize the visuals, create cognitive challenges to test sensory performance, and control the motion of the treadmill. 

 The system gives you the tools to design lifelike research environments to collect the most impactful biomechanical data possible. The treadmill can also be used for studies not using the visual scene depending on research needs of the organization.
